71 Challenger Convertible – SOLD
Fully restored 71 Challenger hemi clone convertible featuring acid dipped body, virtually all new parts including NOS fenders, shaker hood and 4 speed overdrive transmission. This car was originally powered by a 318 V-8. Car now features best of everything including one of our all aluminum FHO 572 street hemi’ s with inline dual four barrels, CNC ported heads, street roller cam and rockers, and the highest quality hemi engine parts available.
Engine dyno tests at 765hp and 710# torque, yet idles well and offers great part throttle response for all types of street driving. An original hemi K frame and mounts have been used. The SFI flywheel with dual friction clutch is designed to handle the increased power, and links the aluminum four speed overdrive transmission to a Bear 3.55 Dana rear end with HD race axles. This car has four wheel disc brakes, with custom 17” billet wheels up front, and 18” wheels on the rear.
To maintain a tight and rigid body, the frame rails have been reinforced internally, and connected front and rear. Cooling is handled by a custom aluminum Griffin radiator and March serpentine belt system. Interior and power black top in black. This vehicle has been used for FHO promotions and advertising, and is now being offered well under our ($175K) build costs at $80K US.
